Important information regarding venue and class changes
January 2017

Dear Parents, Happy new year to all!

It is with deep sadness I am writing to inform you that following our fabulous show, I received notification from the Polish Centre that contrary to belief, we cannot continue to tap on the hall floor. The issues that arose from their letter left me feeling very aggrieved and therefore, I have made the decision that we won't be returning to this centre for the forthcoming term.

We have managed to find a suitable alternative at The United Reform Church on Fredrick Street. This is a nearby venue around the corner from the Polish Centre. It has a lovely big hall upstairs with another room for dance classes downstairs, and a suitable waiting/ changing area; which is much warmer! There are disabled facilities, but unfortunately, this does come with some changes to timetables and a lack of car parking space. There is on the road parking or alternatively you could park at Sainsbury's as you get two hours free, and walk the five minutes up the road. Parents who drop and go will have no problems. The few spaces available, will be made priority for staff. I appreciate this is not ideal, but we do have little alternative.

Moving here will hopefully be a much friendlier environment, and there are no issues with us tapping on the floor!
As we have two teaching spaces this enables us to combine lessons. Therefore, all baby, junior and pre-senior classes will be on a Wednesday. This only impacts upon the present Thursday Juniors. However, this will enable transition in the future from age 3yrs to pre-seniors all on one day.
We have also started fifteen minutes later to allow for parking and walking. The door used is at the back of the building and has a code, so is very secure. Staff will man the door through the intercom system, and someone will be there at changeover times.

Staff will help the children up and downstairs. Once upstairs there is toilet access, so no child will need to leave the room upstairs during class. We can support them with toileting. There is also a lift for disabled access.

The times for Wednesday classes are as follows, hopefully it is not too different from present:
4.15-4.45 - Baby Ballet (Split rooms depending on level)
4.45-5.15 - Junior Ballet (present Thurs class) Downstairs / Boogie Babes Upstairs
5.15-5.45 - Baby Tap Upstairs / Junior Theatre (Present Thurs class) Downstairs
5.45-6.15 - Junior Tap (Present Thurs class) Upstairs / Pre-Senior Ballet downstairs
6.15-6.45 - Junior (Present Thurs) and Pre-Senior Acro classes spilt rooms.
6.45-7.15 - Pre-Senior Theatre upstairs
7.15-7.45 - Pre-senior Tap upstairs

We are hoping to move the senior classes to Charnwood College on a Friday. We are waiting confirmation and will inform the seniors as soon as we know. Friday was the day that the majority had availability. This also allows us to hire their dance studio for classes, providing a lovely dance environment.
We will hold our dance exams and medal sessions for all pupils at Charnwood College too. As we do for our shows.

The senior timetable will be as follows:
4.30-5.15 - Younger Senior Ballet
5.15-5.45 - Senior Tap
5.45-6.15 - Senior Acro
6.15-7.00 - Senior Theatre
7.00-7.45 - Older Senior Ballet and pointe work
7.45-8.15 - Older Senior Contemporary (15yrs and over)
(Seniors you will note I have split the ballet class so that we can concentrate fully on your individual grade work.)

I appreciate fully these changes may not be convenient for everybody, but we must go with convenience for the majority and availability of hall hire. If anybody cannot make these times we apologise sincerely. Please contact me to let me know thank you.

Our new term is five weeks from Wednesday 11th January to Friday 10th February. The half term holiday will follow. Fees due will be issued the first week of term and need to be paid within three weeks. Please settle this promptly as we have had to keep chasing parents for payments due, which takes up lots of unnecessary time and embarrassment to both parties. After the successful trial of payment by bank transfer, we have decided as of Easter we will no longer be taking cash payments for fees. Details of this terms fees will be on your fee note. Thank you.

If anybody would still like a DVD of the show, as we have received a few requests, please bring in your £15.00 in cash at the beginning of term. All orders previously received will be issued first.
On a very happy note we can confirm that we raised £376.51 for Kidscape at our show. Thank you all for your support I know how much the Osbourne family appreciate our support with their cause.

We are planning to hold an exam and medal session just before the Easter break. Details will follow in the new term.
Seniors who have scholarships with the association please note AGM date is Sunday 19th March. You will all need to be available all day. This will be held at Sileby at Mrs Callis' school.
